The strap line and the black background have connotations of death and darkness, which implies that the film will be set at night or in the dark. Also the font and colour of the film title indicates death and blood which creates a scary and mysterious atmosphere, this makes the genre obvious to the audience. The film title 'Insomnia' means inability to sleep which suggests that this films main aim is to scare the audience that much they can't sleep or the main character makes its victims experience insomnia during the film.
